Havana, Cuba.-The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, received Hassan Rouhani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is on an official visit to Cuba.

According to information provided by the Cuban television yesterday night, during the fraternal exchange, the distinguished visitor expressed his satisfaction for being in this Caribbean nation and expressed his admiration for the struggle and the Caribbean country’s unconditional support to other peoples.

Fidel (Castro) and the Iranian president agreed on the analysis of the complexity of the international situation and stressed the importance of food production in a world threatened by climate change, the note says.

They also agreed on the incessant growth of the world population and the dangers that threaten the preservation of peace and the role of governments and peoples to those challenges, particularly the new generations, in the political, economic and social changes.

Fidel and Hassan Rouhani concluded the friendly meeting with the desire for collaboration between the peoples of Iran and Cuba.
