Havana, Cuba.-President Raul Castro will meet with his Vietnamese peer, Tran Dai Quang, who is carrying out an official visit to the Caribbean nation.

According to the program to be followed during his stay, to be run until tomorrow, Tran will also meet today with Cuban Parliament President, Esteban Lazo, and will receive the Jose Marti Order, the highest decoration granted by the Cuban Council of State.

The Asian statesman will also lay today floral offerings to national heroes Jose Marti (Cuba), and Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam).

The visitor was welcomed yesterday by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, with whom he exchanged experiences on economic and social development in the midst of the dangers that haunt humanity.

Vietnam and Cuba have maintained relations in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, construction, trade and education. In addition, delegations from the two countries have conducted regular exchanges to strengthen and expand the existing ties.

The interaction between the two nations has been also characterized by mutual support and common positions in different multilateral forums and at the United Nations.
