ST. PETERSBURG, Russia. – Cuba highlighted its advances in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, rejected the US blockade and highlighted Russia´s role in its social and economic development, in the context of the International Economic Forum of St. Petersburg.

The Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Cuban Minister of Economy, Ricardo Cabrisas, remarked that Cuba is still within the same political line since the triumph of the Revolution.

Cabrisas said that the economic transformations carried out are based on three pillars in a complex moment, since Cuba is subject to an economic, commercial and financial blockade by the United States.

The Cuban Minister added that relations with Russia have been decisive, as Russian companies are present in important sectors of the Cuban economy, such as energy, transport and industry.
