Havana, Cuba. -Just hours after the former Brazilian President Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva, denounced before the United Nations the campaign of harassment he is suffering from sectors of the opposition, a representative of the legal power, the virulent Judge Sergio Moro decided to prosecute the veteran labor leader for trying to obstruct investigations into the bribery in PETROBRAS national energy company.

It is without a doubt an attempt from the right to discredit fully the Workers´ Party, headed by Lula, and which has been at the forefront of Government in recent years.

According to the indictment, Lula supposedly tried to avoid that a high PETROBRAS executive, removed for corruption, denounced some members of the national Government as involved in the mismanagement of that State consortium.

Certainly, Lula´s response to that new right-wing aggression has been to be prepared to find to defend his image and that of his political organization, a target of a powerful media campaign of an oligarchic character trying to separate them definitely of the national political life.

As is known, President Dilma Rousseff remains separated from her position in the middle of a parliamentary process also under the accusation of alleged corrupt acts.

In the case of Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva the effort of the local and external reactionary forces is damaging his figure and his national career, in a moment when surveys point at him as favorite to occupy the Presidency in the 2018 elections.
