British Prime Minister Theresa May
BRUSSELS, Belgium.- The European Union warned this Friday the newly elected British Prime Minister Theresa May, which the elections´ results will not alter the timetable for the UK exit of the bloc, the so-called Brexit.
In this way, the EU lets May know that despite not having won the elections by absolute majority, the need to build a new government does not justify a hypothetical delay in the London-Brussels divorce negotiations.
The conservative dignitary sought with these early elections to gain the unconditional support from her cabinet facing the Brexit, with a majority of parliamentarians with a tendency to support the political formation she leads.
Thus, the remaining Member States of the European Community expressed the need to adhere to the original plan to concretize the segregation before March 2019.
