Havana, Cuba.-With the slogan: ”For the Unity of All Educators”, the Congress Pedagogy 2017 will be held from January 30th, at the Havana International Conference Center, the Cuban Deputy Minister of Education Cira Piñeiro announced.

During the press conference conducted at the venue of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Cuba, the Deputy Minister released that this 15th edition is aimed at showing the work of different Cuban educational institutions, and socializing relevant scientific outcomes as the result of educators´ work.

Likewise, she stated that the corresponding scientific program will include different activities such as courses, specialized visits to Cuban educational institutions, symposia, master lectures given by some celebrities as the Brasilian theologian Frei Betto and 2014 Peace Nobel Prize Kailash Satyarthi.

For her part, the president of the Scientific Committee of the Congress, Eva Escalona, ​​said that there are a total of 1,945 papers submitted by dissimilar international lecturers, highlighting a wide-range representation of each continent, mainly Latin America and the Caribbean.

Likewise, she also stood out that delegates will have the chance of participating in different activities such as special panels:’ Fidel Castro, educador de la esperanza’and’ The persistencia del bloqueo de Estados Unidos a Cuba. Actuality and consequences’.

Such event is mainly sponsored by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the United Nations Children’s Fund, the Association of Latin American and Caribbean Educators, as well as the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture.

Pedagogy 2017 will be holding up to February 3rd, and boasting the participation of 775 Cuban delegates and over 2,000 foreign participants, which is considered as the most important Congress in the region.
