Havana, Cuba.- Venezuelan state airline Aeropostal restarted today its flights to Cuba, with three weekly flights and the perspective to consolidate the links between Cuba and Venezuela.

Aeropstal Alas de Venezuela’s Executive President Eduardo Legaspi showed his satisfaction in the flight reopening trip, during a ceremony at Havana’s International Jose Marti Airport.

Legaspi said that he and the Venezuelan airline personnel were very excited by the restart of flights, just as Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and Tourism Minister Hipolito Abreu, among other Venezuelan high officials.

Charter plane operations will be held on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with the possibility to widen the frequency.

Aeropostal’s routes now arrive through this modality, but they seek to build a stable itinerary that will be fruitful in the link between Caracas and Havana, the executive insisted.

The fleet of this airline is made up of seven aircraft. Aeropostal was an airline based at the international airport of Maiquetia, founded by Marcel Bouilloux-Lafont on July 3, 1929.

On August 24, 2017, Aeropostal temporarily ceased operations after 88 years of service.

In addition to providing medical care, these trips also facilitate the tourist links between both countries.
