Havana, Cuba.-The National Ballet of Cuba (BNC) celebrated the 58th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution with the performance of the classic The Nutcracker, in version of director of BNC Alicia Alonso.

Through Alonso´s hands, historian of Havana Eusebio Leal, was granted yesterday the Annual Award given by the Gran Teatro de La Habana, a theater named also after Alicia Alonso since the end of 2015.

The jury made up of Alicia Alonso, Eduardo Heras Leon, Miguel Barnet, Roberto Chorens and Carlos Alberto Cremata, awarded Leal for his important work as a historian, the enormous effort he has made for restoring Habana Vieja and his merits as educator and social communicator.

BNC will also perform Nutcracker on weekends from January 7th to 22nd, at the same theater, and dedicated to leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro.
