HAVANA, Cuba. – The Almirante Didiez Burgos patrol vessel from the Dominican Republic Navy, arrived for the first time in Cuba this Tuesday, where it will pay an official visit until July 6.

Rear Admiral Felix Ernesto Cedeno, Sub-Commander General of the Dominican Navy; Joaquin Geronimo, Ambassador of that country in Havana; and Captain Luis Humberto Martinez, second head of Department of the Revolutionary Navy, saluted the crew in Havana Port.

This morning the Dominican sailors placed of a floral offering to the statue of the Cuban national hero Jose Marti in the Central Park of Havana.

Captain Juan Crisostomo, head of the visiting mission, pointed out that the instructional vessel try to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Cuba and the Dominican Republic, and to elevate the preparation of the Midshipmen for their future life as naval officers.
