BEIJING, China.- Trade negotiations between China and the United States will be cancelled by Beijing, if Washington insists on applying sanctions to the Asian nation, the Chinese Government said to President Donald Trump.

In a statement released by Xinhua Press Agency, the warning clarifies that all trade agreements of the last meetings between the two countries will be without effect if Washington persists in its threats.

Recently, China pledged to increase purchases of agricultural goods, energy, and other American products and services.

The White House, however, did not surprise with its announcement less than a week ago that it will apply tariffs on Chinese imports for a value of 50 billion dollars, in addition to imposing restrictions on Chinese investments in the northern country and more strict controls on exports.
