BAKU, Azerbaijan.- Azeri President Ilham Aliyev received his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, who from tomorrow will participate in the high-level session of the 18th Summit of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), in this capital.
.Alyev and Diaz-Canel exchanged in a friendly atmosphere on issues on the bilateral agenda. Both countries share the objective of preserving the unity of NAM and its important role in the international sphere, as a mechanism for political conciliation for the countries of the South.
Shortly after his arrival in this city, the Cuban President visited the tomb of the first Azeri President, Heydar Aliyev, father of this Asian nation, and placed a floral offering. Diaz-Canel toured the old part of the city.
The tour of the Cuban President through the historic center of Baku was part of the first day of his stay in this Caucasian country, home to the aforementioned summit of NAM.
