HAVANA, Cuba. – Dominican singer Sergio Vargas with his orchestra arrived this Monday in Havana, where he will perform for the first time next Friday 21 with Cuban troubadour Tony Avila.
The Avellaneda Hall of the National Theatre will host the meeting in which Vargas, with a long artistic trajectory in his country and recognized in several squares of the world, will share some of his hits with the local public.
Avila and Vargas have collaborated before and will present a varied program focused on the popular music of both countries, especially merengue, bachata and son.
Avila will promote Let There Be Light, an album by BIS music label and nominated for Cubadisco Award this year. The concert is inserted in the first stop of a tour Avila will do throughout Cuba. He is nominated as a composer to the Latin Grammy Award for his song La Bala (The Bullet).
