CAMAGUEY, Cuba. – Masaru Watanabe, Ambassador of Japan to Cuba, visited Camagüey province on Tuesday to inaugurate the development of three seed production and conservation projects in urban and suburban agriculture, financed by this Embassy.
This initiative aims to promote the socioeconomic development of local communities and their inhabitants, Watanabe explained, who remarked the collaboration between the two nations in more than a hundred similar programs.
On his journey through Los Ranchos Urban Farm, of Camaguey Agricultural Company, and the Breeding Center of Entomophagous and Entomo-pathogens, the ambassador observed some of the almost thirty varieties of vegetables, fruits and vegetables harvested.
Watanabe also found the operation of the installed machinery, as well as a cold chamber for the conservation of seeds.
