HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuban company Acosta Dance announced this Thursday that it will present two world premieres next September, by relevant choreographers Goyo Montero, from Spain, and Sidi Larbi, from Belgium.
Larbi, one of the most famous names of contemporary dance, creates Mermaid especially for Carlos Acosta, who will return to the scene with Cuban dancer Marta Ortega. Montero shapes Imponderable, with text and music by Silvio Rodriguez.
The new season will take place at the Grand Theater of Havana, and as part of the show the public can also enjoy Belles Lettres, a lyric piece by American Justin Peck, a New York City Ballet resident choreographer.
A statement from Acosta Dance Company reaffirms its objective of offering integrative spectacles from the contemporary and the neoclassical, without discarding other expressions, times and dance styles.
