SANCTI SPÍRITUS, Cuba.- Students of the Camilo Cienfuegos Military School, in Sancti Spiritus, paid tribute in Yaguajay to the fighters of the Las Villas Northern Front, who fell during the insurrectionary struggle or died after the triumph.

Fighters and collaborators of the Rebel Army together with local leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government deposited flowers in front of the niches holding the remains of members of that group led by Commander Camilo Cienfuegos.

The Mausoleum of the Las Villas Northern Front was inaugurated on October 28, 2009 by the First Secretary of the Party, General of Army Raul Castro Ruz.

On October 7, 1958, Commander Camilo Cienfuegos, at the head of the Antonio Maceo Invading Column, arrived in the Yaguajay area to found the guerrilla front to which other rebel groups joined.
