HAVANA, Cuba.- Our history can be known through the Constitutions that governed its passage, and in this evolutionary process Varela, Marti and Fidel excel, they were patriots who saw clearly in the Revolution a source of Law, historian Eduardo Torres Cuevas said.

During the presentation of the Book of Constitutions at the headquarters of the Cuban Parliament at the Capitol, Torres Cuevas added the revolutionaries who fought for sovereignty always had an advanced legal thought.

The text, in two volumes, abridges the Cuban Constitutions, statutes and constitutional laws from 1812 to 2012, and they prepare a third one.

Salvador Valdés Mesa, First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers; Esteban Lazo, President of the National Assembly of People’s Power, and Teresa Amarelle, president of the Federation of Cuban Women, attended the launching of the book.
