Mireya Luis is the new head of NORCECA.

HAVANA, Cuba. – Cuban former volleyball player Mireya Luis has a new challenge in her agenda, because she is from now the head of the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA).

After being elected to the office this weekend, during the annual meeting of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of the Association, the triple Olympic champion will begin shortly her work.

The meeting held in the Dominican Republic decided the former captain of the legendary Morenas del Caribe assumed the position of Mexican Saul Castro Verdugo, who resigned recently.

A part of her new work, Luis will rule the tournaments involving national Federations members of her association, such as Canada, Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
