Havana, Cuba.-Experts from several countries will participate in the First Convention of Science, Technology and Innovation, to take place from October 31st to November 4th, organizers announced today.

Organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), Latin American experts from Mexico, Brazil, Panama, Uruguay, Argentina and Puerto Rico are expected to attend the event.

Experts from other regions such as the United States, Angola, Sri Lanka, India, United Arab Emirates and Mozambique, have also confirmed their participation.

In statements to Prensa Latina, the president of the scientific committee, Armando Rodriguez, said that the main objective of the convention was to discuss the contribution of science, technology and innovation to sustainable development.

We want this science to reach everyone, that is, popularize science and promote integration, exchange of experiences, sustainable practices and the analysis of the progress and achievements in research and innovation among professionals in several thematic areas.

Under the slogan ‘Cuba a Country of Science’, the program includes 10 conventions, including the 14th International Congress of Information, Info 2016, the First International Conference on Science and Inclusive Innovation for Sustainable Development.

An exhibition fair, Expociencia 2016, and the First International Workshop Science-Enterprise, will be held in parallel to the convention.
