SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba. – Floral offerings from Army General Raul Castro Ruz, founding Commander of the Second Eastern Front and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, presided over the military ceremony for the 62nd anniversary of the founding of that guerrilla front.

The flowers of the Presidency of the National Assembly of People’s Power and the Council of State, as well as the people of Cuba, were also placed by student from Camilo Cienfuegos Military School before the eternal flame of Mayari Arriba Mausoleum.

Lazaro Exposito, First Secretary of the Party in Santiago de Cuba province and a representation of people from of Second Front municipality attended the ceremony.

During the commemoration, flowers were laid in the niches where fighters from that rebel front rest and on the monument stone containing Vilma Espin´s ashes.
