HAVANA, Cuba. – The Cuban Chancellery reported that the independent expert on human rights and international solidarity of the United Nations, Virginia Dandan, will visit Cuba in response to an invitation from the Government.

Dandan will stay in the Caribbean nation from July 11 to 13, and she will fulfill an agenda of meetings and other activities.

Virginia Dandan´s schedule in Cuba will allow her to see the extensive and sustained work of Cuba in terms of solidarity and international cooperation, as well as its contribution to promote and protect of human rights at the global level.

The UN official has an extensive experience in Fine Arts teaching at the University of the Philippines, her homeland, and she was a member and chair of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
