HAVANA, Cuba.- The close relations of friendship and cooperation between Russia and Cuba were highlighted in Havana by the Ambassador of that Federation, Mikhail Kaminin, who concludes his diplomatic mission in the island.
During the celebration of the Day of Russia at the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), its President Fernando Gonzalez Llort thanked the samples of support of the people and Government of that European nation, in the struggle of the Cubans against the Imperialist blockade.
The National Day of Russia is celebrated on June 12, and it was established in 1990 by the Congress of Popular Deputies of the Soviet Federative Socialist Republic of Russia.
On the occasion of the ephemeris several celebrations will take place from June 13 to 15, including cultural activities in emblematic institutions of the historical center of Havana sponsored by the Russian Embassy and the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana.
Students of Russian schools interpreted songs and folk dances of their country, before Cuban personalities and members of the diplomat body accredited in Cuba.
