HAVANA, Cuba.- The Secretary General of the Workers’ Central Union of Cuba (CTC), Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, inaugurated in Havana the twelfth May 1st International Scientific Workshop, at the Torcedores Palace in Havana.

The also member of the Council of State spoke about the importance of maintaining the traditions and values of the Cuban trade union movement, bequeathed by leaders such as Lazaro Pena and Agapito Figueroa Barrea, among others.

The twelfth May 1st International Scientific Workshop is sponsored by the Institute of History of Cuba, the Workers’ Central Union of Cuba and the Vicente Lombardo Toledano Center for Philosophical, Political and Social Studies of Mexico.

The meeting will be held until next April 26, and it is attended by delegates from Latin America, the United States and Europe.
