Retirees and industry workers evoke Che  Guevara.

VILLA CLARA, Cuba.- Working Heroes and Heroines, retirees of the industrial sector, directors of companies, and trade union leaders of several provinces of the country, paid homage to Ernesto Che Guevara in the sculptural complex bearing his name in the city of Santa Clara.

At the meeting, chaired by Omar Ruiz Martin, member of the Secretariat of the Party’s Central Committee, participants also celebrated the five years of the National Union of Industrial Workers.

During the event, attended by Arturo Rodriguez Font, top trade union leader, they evoked Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, who served as Minister of Industries in the early years of the Cuban Revolution and became creator of factories, as the Mechanical Plant and the Household Utensils National Industry (INPUD), both in Santa Clara.

The Working Heroes and Heroines, retirees of the industrial sector, directors of companies, and trade union leaders toured the museum of the sculptural complex, which expose photos and personal objects of the Heroic Guerrilla and his companions who participated in the epic of Bolivia.

Later, the visitors departed for Cienfuegos to celebrate the central event for the fifth anniversary of the National Union of Industrial Workers, and to call on the Second National Conference of this sector.
