HAVANA, Cuba.- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, received on Thursday the President of the Government of the Russian Federation and the United Russia Party, His Excellency Dimitri Anatolievich Medvedev.

During the fraternal meeting they exchanged about the excellent relations of friendship between the two peoples, parties and governments and expressed a willingness to continue to strengthen party and bilateral ties.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Yuri I. Borisov, Vice-President of the Government of the Russian Federation, and Andrey Guskov, extraordinary ambassador and plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cuba.

They were also present Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Communist Party, and Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
