SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba. – Headed by Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, the cultural and political ceremony for the anniversary 60 of Frank Pais´s fall and the Day of the Martyrs of the Revolution took place in Santa Iphigenia Cemetery at Santiago de Cuba.

Next to Marti´s tomb and where Fidel´s ashes remains, attendants are concentrated after reediting the gigantic popular pilgrimage that accompanied six decades ago the burial of Frank Pais.

Army General Raul Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers sent floral offerings that were deposited in the Altarpiece of the Martyrs of the Revolution.

The second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura presided over last Sunday the political and cultural ceremony held in Callejon del Muro in Santiago de Cuba, where 60 years ago Frank Pais and his comrade of struggles Raul Pujol were killed

Jose Ramon Balaguer, member of the Secretariat, Susely Morfa, top leader of the Young Communist League of Cuba (UJC), combatants, authorities and a representation of the people of Santiago were also present.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the attendees moved to the Little Square of Martyrs, where a group of students and workers of the territory received their cards as members of UJC and the Party.

Also as part of this Sunday´s activities several floral offerings were deposited in pantheons and statues of martyrs of the Revolution in Santiago de Cuba.
