HAVANA, Cuba.- With the evocation of the lucid and substantial thinking of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, the IV International Conference “For the Balance of the World” began, organized by the Jose Marti Project of International Solidarity and be held to next Thursday.

Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, and Chancellor Bruno Rodriguez, attended its opening ceremony at the Convention Palace.

Hector Hernandez Pardo, deputy director of the Marti Program Office and coordinator of the IV International Conference “For the Balance of the World”, reported that delegates from 65 countries attend, together with the Cuban representation.

The participants in the event paid tribute to the memory of intellectual Armando Hart, reaffirmed the solidarity with the peoples and legitimate Governments of Venezuela and Nicaragua, and demanded the freedom of Brazilian leader Lula Da Silva.

At the opening of the International Conference “For the Balance of the World”, Cuban poet and essayist Roberto Fernandez Retamar received the Jose Marti International Award conferred by UNESCO.
