HAVANA, Cuba.-The best way to fight corruption is that our organizations be efficient, respectful of legality and disciplined, Comptroller General of the Republic, Gladys Bejerano, said.

When closing the eleventh International Meeting of Accounting, Audit and Finances in the Conventions Palace of Havana, the also Vice-President called to fight for business efficiency, as a tool of internal control.

We have not only be associated with the fight against wrongdoing, but also with the effort to make things better, Bejerano remarked and added that control has stopped to be a task to become a business present throughout the business process.

The Comptroller General of the Republic demanded the managements to assume the leadership in the internal control of each entity.

A Body at the Service of Efficiency

Gladys Bejerano detailed the work of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic before the participants in the eleventh International Meeting of Accounting, Auditing and finances.

She explained the annual process of national verification extended to topics corresponding to the Guidelines ruling the updating of the Cuban economic model, and were approved by the last two congresses of the Communist Party

In this sense, the official mentioned the actions on the national and local budgets, which guarantees one of the main functions assigned to the Comptrollership and prevents bad practices in the economic field.
