HAVANA, Cuba. – The Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly of People’s Power, analyzed this Tuesday the implementation of the plans and strategies for preventing and confronting drug use in Cuba.

The head of the General Directorate of the National Revolutionary Police, Major General Jesus Becerra, said that Cuba’s success in fighting drugs is the achievement of an integral system of confrontation with this scourge.

The parliamentarian remarked it is a strength to continue improving the level of prevention and fight against drugs by specialized organs, in order to prevent it cause considerable damage to the country.

During the debate, Major General Becerra highlighted the work carried out by the Ministry of Education through programs and constant interventions in schools, to make young people to reject drugs.
