CIEGO DE AVILA, Cuba. – Almost 500 youths from Ciego de Avila received their degrees as graduates at Maximo Gomez Baez University, in that central Cuban province.

The graduates majored in agricultural, economic, business, technical, informatics, pedagogical, social and humanistic sciences, as well as physical culture and sports.

More than 70 students received the Title of Gold and the most comprehensive were Yunier Martinez Cepero and Jamie Lopez Lemus; the latter won the Award for Scientific Merit together with her classmates Maidolis Sierra, Nestor Concepcion and Lisbeth Castro.

Dedicated to Ernesto Che Guevara on the 50th anniversary of his physical disappearance, the University of Ciego de Avila graduation also gave their diplomas to Angolan students graduated as hydraulic engineers.
