Havana, Cuba.- Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero called to continue to fight illegalities and corruption, amid the combat against the Covid-19 pandemic.

At Monday’s daily meeting of the Government’s temporary group that reviews the country’s epidemiological situation, which was attended by President Miguel Diaz-Canel, the prime minister instructed to reinforce the protection of vulnerable groups, like elderly people, psychiatric patients and children without parental protection.

For his part, Matanzas Governor Mario Sabines referred to a focus of contagion of Covid-19 at the Faustino Peres Hospital in that city, where violations of health and biosecurity measures were detected, and 40 people, including patients, companions and workers tested positive for the new coronavirus.

The official noted that they are working to end the chain of contagion, so that the hospital can continue to operate normally.

Havana Governor Reinaldo Garcia Zapata reported that so far, no new cases have been reported in relation to five local contagion events in the Cuban capital, although he noted the need to keep discipline and physical isolation.
