Cuban President Congratulates the United Nations

HAVANA, Cuba.- Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, sent a congratulations message to the United Nations on its anniversary 73.

In his speech last September 26 at the general debate of the 73th session of the UN General Assembly, the Cuban President emphasized the need to concretize the promised strengthening of the Assembly as the main body of deliberation, decision and representation.

Diaz-Canel highlighted on that occasion that the reform of the Security Council should not be delayed or prevented, and it should be adjusted to the times, democratizing its composition and working methods.

The United Nations were officially born on October 24, 1945, at the end of the Second World War, with the aim of avoiding a new great conflict of war.
