HAVANA, Cuba.- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Raul Castro Ruz and the President of the island, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, congratulated the newly elected head of State of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong.

The messages of the Cuban leaders were of the first to arrive in Hanoi, where this Tuesday, during the sixth session of the National Assembly, the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam was elected President and swore the office.

In his missive, Army General Raul Castro sent to Phu Trong cordial congratulations and the best wishes of success, on behalf of the people, the Communist Party and the Cuban Government.

Diaz-Canel also transmitted to the Vietnamese President fraternal congratulations, wished him success in the performance of his high responsibilities and ratified the will to continue strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
