National Assembly commissions assess important issues for Cuba.

HAVANA, Cuba. – We must make a colossal effort to develop the tax culture and strengthen fiscal discipline, as well as strengthening institutionality, Cuban first Vice-President Salvador Valdes Mesa in the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs.

The Minister of Economy and Planning, Ricardo Cabrisas, said that in order to guarantee the sustainability of objectives, it was oriented to concentrate resources on the priorities of priorities, without slowing down the development and bearing in mind that the role of the Cuban system is to meet the people´s needs.

Rene Hernandez, first Deputy Minister of Economy, said the Cuban economy is advancing, in attention to the priorities set in the plan but not without tensions.

Hernandez highlighted the persistence of difficulties associated with inventory management and the use of energy carriers.

Saving and Building on the Parliamentary Agenda

The Committee of Industries, Construction and Energy of the National Assembly of People´s Power met with the presence of Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdes and Ines Maria Chapman, Vice-President of the Council of State,

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Alfredo Lopez, they work on the construction of solar parks, as well as in bioelectric plants in Villa Clara, Matanzas and Camaguey, and in two wind farms in Las Tunas, among other plans.

Lopez insisted on the need of monitoring and saving energy consumption, both in the residential and state sectors.

The Minister of Industries, Salvador Pardo Cruz, explained to the deputies the state of policies and investment programs in the field, while the Minister of Construction, Rene Mesa, referred to the efforts made in the building of houses.
