HAVANA, Cuba.- In the context of the International Convention on Public Health, attended by Minister of Health Roberto Morales, a premise stood out: Cuba shares what it has, not what is left over.

“Our country has a South-South medical cooperation experience of fifty five years, a reflection of the island’s foreign policy,” Vice- Minister of Health Marcia Cobas said.

Cuba is a country blocked by the United States, Cobas added, but more than fifty thousand Cuban collaborators have given their assistance in sixty countries, thanks to the potentialities of the national health system with the principle that health is a right of the people.

Those present at the International Health Convention agreed that medical collaboration is a pathway to true integration.
