Cuba prepares referendum on the Constitution.

HAVANA, Cuba. – When it is just one month to go for February 24, Cuba is in good condition to face the constitutional referendum, Alina Balseiro, president of the National Electoral Commission, said when appearing in Roundtable TV program.

The official pointed out that, with a view to that day, the assurance schemes have already been approved, the election computer system as well as communications work optimally and the training of the electoral authorities is guaranteed.

Balseiro reported that today there are 25342 electoral colleges in the country, which can vary, and they are in the process of reproducing ballots, and even some territories began their distribution.

The President of the National Electoral Commission noted that the dynamic test in Cuba will be on February 17, and it will allow to check the work system planned for the day of the vote.

Other Precisions

In Roundtable television program, the President of the Special Electoral Commission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marcos Fermin Rodriguez, explained how the vote will be held abroad, which will take place on February 16 and 17, and for which 1051 electoral colleges have been created.

Rodriguez said that will be for the diplomatic staff, collaborators and fellows abroad, who cannot abandon their important missions to travel to the island.

Fermin Rodriguez announced that abroad the dynamic test will be next February 10, and it will check the flow of information planned for the election days.

In the TV program, Colonel Mario Mendez, head of the Directorate of Identification, Immigration and Aliens of the Ministry of the Interior, explained the characteristics of the Cuban Electoral register.
