Cancellation of postage stamp for Cuba-UNESCO relation.

HAVANA, Cuba. – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba hosted this Tuesday the celebration of the seventy anniversary of Cuba{s entry to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

A commemorative stamp was cancelled on this occasion, dedicated also to the founding of the Cuban National Commission of UNESCO.

This activity was presided over by Cuban minister Abelardo Moreno, the director of the UNESCO-Havana office, Katherine Müller-Marin, the president of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, Miguel Barnet, and the head of the National Commission, Oscar Leon.

Cuba formalized its incorporation to UNESCO in 1947, and in November of that year created its National Commission, responsible for relations with that international agency.
