HANOI, Vietnam. – Cuba recognized with the Order of Solidarity the huge and maintained efforts of the President of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngam, in favor of friendship and cooperation.

In a solemn ceremony held in Hanoi, the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), Fernando Gonzalez, imposed the award to whom for almost a decade presided the Association of Friendship Vietnam-Cuba.

“I am proud to be the bearer of such an important distinction, granted by the State Council of the Republic of Cuba according to the ICAP proposal,” Gonzalez said.

Until shortly after assuming the leadership of the Vietnamese Parliament, Kim Ngam chaired the Friendship Association between the two countries, and when she gave up that post, promised to continue contributing to bilateral relations, efforts that Cuba now recognized in all fairness.
