CARACAS, Venezuela.- The Venezuelan Government challenged the the Peruvian decision to withdraw the invitation to President Nicholas Maduro to attend the Summit of the Americas next April in Lima.

In a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, Venezuela argues that the rules of the summits do not attribute to Peru or any country the ability to decide on the participation of another member.

Hence, the message points out that the withdrawal of the invitation and allusive declarations by high representatives of the Peruvian government show a notable ignorance of the regulations and a performance without prior debate and decision of 35 heads of State and Government.

Therefore, by acting in this sense, it places Pedro Pablo Kuczynski Administration in the margin of the law and the diverse and integrationist spirit of the summits, ratified last July when Peru agreed to organize the meeting of this year, in April.

Solidarity, the Best Defense Weapon for Venezuela

The common cry of Hands outside Venezuela! and the united march of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples are the most forceful response to imperial meddling in that nation, Nicaraguan Lourdes Pujol said.

The young medical student in Havana told Radio Reloj that the oligarchy and the recalcitrant right of the Bolivarian country, along with representatives of Trump´s Government, try to end the Venezuelan civic-military union, but that will not succeed.

Lourdes Pujol argued that the nations members of ALBA, as well as many friendly countries, have ratified their militant solidarity with the threats against Venezuela.

The young Nicaraguan recalled that in the South American country it is applied the same script imposed on Cuba, and clarified: “The unity of Latin Americans is firm and willing to any collective action in defense of Venezuela.”

Maduro Maintains a Positive Image

Hinterlaces pollster reported that in Venezuela prevails a positive assessment of the management of President Nicolas Maduro against the unconventional war of the United States.

The director of that agency, Oscar Schemel, valued in this result the victories obtained by the President against the threats, aggressions and violence generated in several territories of the country in 2017.

Schemel added social management undertaken by the Executive to protect the most vulnerable sectors with initiatives of the head of State. The study also revealed that 80 percent of Venezuelans recognize the importance for the country of a dialogue and reconciliation between the Government and the opposition.

He indicated that most of respondents felt that this path could contribute to the resolution of problems, particularly in the economic field.
