CARACAS, Venezuela.- The Venezuelan Government formally protested before the US diplomatic representation what it considers a new interventionist action and ignorance of the legitimate authorities.

The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for North America, Carlos Ron, gave the new Chargé d’affaires of the Washington Embassy in Caracas, Christopher Lambert, and a note of protest because the official met last Friday with the National Assembly in contempt.

The Venezuelan Chancellery specified that such actions constitute an aggression on the part of the American Embassy to the sovereignty of the South American nation.

It added they seek to hinder the Executive´s efforts to promote a constructive dialogue, based on mutual respect and recognition of constitutional institutions.
