UNITED NATIONS, New York.-  The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, calls for respect for state institutions in Bolivia and the inviolability of diplomatic missions, after a coup d’état forced Evo Morales to resign.

Guterres called on all Bolivians to refrain from the use of violence and called on the authorities to ensure the safety of all citizens, government officials and foreigners.

Analysts revealed that after Morales’ resignation to protect the people of Bolivia from further aggression, opposition groups began besieged diplomatic headquarters there.

From Latin America and other parts of the world, presidents, personalities, intellectuals, organizations and activists have denounced the coup d’état in Bolivia and recognized Morales’ position.
