Border fence replacement in Calexico, California.

WASHINGTON, USA – U.S. President Donald Trump referred this Thursday to the beginning of the construction of his controversial wall on the border with Mexico, but the works he referred belong to another project.

“We have begun to build our wall, it looks good,” the president said in a speech to workers in the town of Richfield, Ohio.

However, the project referred by the head of the White House is a replacement of the border fence in Calexico, California, whose plan dates back to 2009.

The U.S. Secretary of Security, Kirstjen Nielsen, clarified the origin of such work, and the Customs and Border Protection Office issued a press release on the substitution work when they began, more than a month ago, which denies Trump.
