President Nicolas Maduro.

LIMA, Peru. – Conservative Peruvian analysts recognized the inability to prevent the participation of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in the Summit of the Americas next April.

Former chancellor Francisco Tudela, hostile to the Bolivarian process, said that if the Venezuelan president does not accept the withdrawal of the invitation of the Government of Lima, informed two days ago according to a letter from the Chancellery, he can attend the event.

Another former Foreign Minister, Eduardo Ferrero, noted that at Maduro´s insistence, the Government requires the conformity of the thirty three participating countries, compared to the 11 members of the Lima Group who declared their respect, not their support, to the decision of the Peruvian Administration.

These opinions preceded those of progressive parliamentarian Marco Arana, in the sense that Maduro has the right to participate in the summit of the Americas in his capacity as elected president.
