VATICANO CITY, Vaticano. – Pope Francis sent a message to all members of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo on their 41st anniversary, and described them as great fighters who teach the way to go.

In a radio message sent to Ana Maria Careaga, daughter of Esther Ballestrino de Careaga, one of the founders of the organization, the Supreme Pontiff recalled the first historical round these Argentinian women made at the foot of the Pyramid of the Plaza de Mayo.

Thus began a struggle that lasts until today to know the whereabouts of the detainees-disappeared during the last military dictatorship, which forever lacerated the lives of many Argentine families.

Pope Francis remembered how much Careaga worked and with her, so many women who fought for justice or lost their children.
