The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) warned of attempts to impose an economic or humanitarian solution in Gaza Strip, and to separate it from the rest of the Palestinian territory.

A political solution is required based on legality, morality and rights to ensure a just peace, Hanan Ashrawi, member of the organization{s Executive Committee said to a delegation from the American University of California.

The Palestinian leader provided the visitors with an analysis of political, international and regional events, as well as the volatile situation in the blockaded coastal enclave.

Ashrawi urged the American delegation to speak out against the support the US Administration gives to Israel. We must courageously oppose the unilateral measures imposed by Tel Aviv, which are contrary to the requirements of peace and stability, she said.
