Construction of Fidel Castro Square in Vietnam.

QUANG TRI, Vietnam.- In Dong Ha, capital of the central Vietnamese province of Quang Tri, 604 km from Hanoi, the construction of a square that will be called Fidel Castro progresses, where a bust of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution is already located.

The work makes part of a cultural complex whose inauguration is scheduled for next year, but whose esplanade must probably end in the middle of the coming September, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Fidel’s visit to Vietnam.

The then Prime Minister of Cuba was the only one who visited the Asian country during the American aggression, and he toured Quang Tri, then under bombardments of the aviation of the imperialist power.

The territory was called Zone of Fires, because of the bloody fighting there, so today it shows some war scars but bids for development and does not forget the friends of its more difficult times.
