BEIJING, China.- The meeting between the five nuclear powers concluded in China with the commitment of these States to share responsibility for maintaining peace and security in the planet.

Geng Shuang, spokesman for the Chinese Chancellery, said the meeting was a success and threw as a consensus that China, Russia, the United Kingdom, France and the United States would support the validity of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

According to the official, they also promised to cooperate with each other, to maintain strategic consultations, to coordinate closely the revision of the pact and to promote open dialogue with sectors of the international community such as the academic and the press.

Geng emphasized the desirability of seeing the strategic intentions of each one objectively, to strengthen mutual trust and exchanges on the subject in upcoming meetings.
