HANOI, Vietnam. – Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Commerce Tran Tuan Anh, said in Hanoi that the visit of the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong to Cuba opens a new chapter in trade and cooperation relations between both nations.

He added that one of the most important results was to reach a consensus between that portfolio and that of foreign trade and foreign investment in Cuba in order to finish the negotiations on the bilateral trade agreement as soon as possible.

He pointed out that the two parties would revise the legal framework to sign the agreement in order to promote trade, joint production.

After highlighting that Vietnam has become Havana’s second largest partner in Asia after China, Tran Tuan Anh underlined that his country has an important role in Cuba’s development strategy.
