Beirut, Lebanon.- A meeting with nature in the Lebanese town of Abey honored Cuba”s National Hero Jose Marti on occasion of the 124th anniversary of his fall in combat, Prensa Latina learned from diplomatic sources on Monday.

Organized by the Jose Marti Arab-Latin American Solidarity Association, the Cuban embassy and the Mayor’s Office in Abey, the march traveled 2.4 kilometers along trails of a natural park.

There, diplomats, Cuban residents in Lebanon, Venezuelans and Palestinians paid tribute to the most universal of those born in Cuba, who left in his works classic references to the works of Doña Natura.

Cuban ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Pellicer highlighted Marti’s legacy and the validity of his thought, since we learned from him the love to the country, humanism and the importance of unity, he stated.

In the complex moments we live in our America and the world, we must remain united, only in this way we will achieve victory, he stressed.

At the end of the walk, participants collaborated in planting a tree to symbolize the historic friendship between Cuba and Lebanon.
