MOSCOW, Russia.- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov denied this Monday that the end of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty will mean a return to the Cold War.

The Russian Chancellery regretted last Saturday Washington’s decision to suspend its obligations to the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, as a prelude to its definitive abandonment, followed by the Kremlin’s announcement to also put an end to its commitments.

Russia reserves the right to act symmetrically in the development, production and deployment of medium-and short-range terrestrial missiles, the document indicates.
