The American company sues four Cuban companies.

HAVANA, Cuba.- American oil giant ExxonMobil promotes today a lawsuit against two Cuban companies following the decision of the Donald Trump´s Government to allow the application of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, Prensa Latina reports.

This Thursday, the company interposed this action in a federal court in Washington against the Cuban state-owned business group CIMEX and the Cuba-Oil Union, CUPET.

ExxonMobil indicated it has a claim certified by the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission for nationalized properties on the island, including oil refineries such as Nico Lopez in Havana.

Under Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, there is the possibility of promoting an action in the American courts against persons and entities, even from third countries, who invest in the Cuban territory in properties nationalized after the revolutionary triumph.
